Updated Super Bowl XLIV odds

Want further proof that the NFC East is loaded? Sportsbook.com has updated its odds for winning Super Bowl XLIV, and its top three picks to represent the NFC in the title game are the New York Giants (10-1), the Dallas Cowboys (12-1) and the Philadelphia Eagles (12-1).

Alas, the Washington Redskins trail the pack as a 40-1 pick. Last year’s NFC representative – the Arizona Cardinals – are at 30-1.

But if the odds are any indication of what will happen this upcoming NFL season, then just hand over the Lombardi Trophy to the New England Patriots. Bill Belichick’s bunch are overwhelming favorites at 3.5-1. Trailing the Patriots on the AFC side are Pittsburgh (10-1), Indianapolis (12-1) and San Diego (12-1).

The longest of longshots? If you guessed the lowly Detroit Lions, you are correct. But they have company. Also listed at 100-1 are the Oakland Raiders, St. Louis Rams and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
