Jerry Jones declined the opportunity to dispute T.O.’s claim that the owner/GM reneged on a commitment to keep the receiver on the Cowboys’ roster.

If Jerry doesn’t want to shoot down T.O.’s side of the story, there’s no reason to question its accuracy. After all, Jerry had essentially announced that T.O. would return to Valley Ranch before reversing field.

“I know whole-heartedly he wanted me there,” T.O. told a Canadian TV network in an interview that will air Sunday. “There were some people I know who got in his ear that pressured him to make that decision. For that, it’s sad. You let two or three people conspire to get me out of the situation.”

T.O. suggested that one of those people was Stephen Jones, Jerry’s son and a team executive who is widely respected around the NFL.

This is great news for Cowboys fans. It shows that Jerry is willing to listen to good advice, and he’s getting it from a guy who will have a major say in running the franchise for decades.
