There was a time where Julius Jones was viewed as the next great Cowboys running back with Tony Dorsett and Emmitt Smith after some electrifying games as a rookie but it never came to light. Now in his second year with the Seahawks, Jones returns for his second game against the Cowboys.
In his first he carried 11 times for 37 yards on Thanksgiving in a 34-9 Seahawks’ loss at Texas Stadium.
Jones said he had “good and bad memories” of his time with the Cowboys but was looking forward to seeing Terence Newman, Bradie James and Jason Witten among other.
“A lot of guys I had a real good relationship with,” Jones said. “It’ll be good to see them and talk to them before the game and beat them up during the game and talk to them after the game.”
Jones laughed after he said it. He has 290 yards on 74 carries this year and a 62-yard touchdown run. His brother, Thomas, has 321 yards in his last two games with the New York Jets.
“We’re competitive,” Jones said. “We feed off each other, not like I’m going to get more yards or he’s going to get more yards than me. I’ve got some work to do.”
