Here’s Friday’s Cowboys camp report

OBSERVATION DECK

* Rookie S Mike Hamlin had the play of the day in seven-on-seven drills. Jon Kitna attempted to thread a pass down the seam to TE Martellus Bennett but Hamlin leaped, tipped the ball and came down with the interception.

* Wade Phillips’ father, Bum, attended Friday’s practice.

* David Buehler worked on on-side kicks in practice and struggled early. He had one tumble backward, but by the end of the drill he was hitting them 10 yards, end over end. Nick Folk has mastered that sort of on-side attempt.

* RB Marion Barber had a long gain on an inside run thanks to a combo block Jason Witten put on outside LB Anthony Spencer and then S Gerald Sensabaugh.
