SAN ANTONIO – The last line of defense is the source of so much defensive talk at Cowboys training camp.

Better at safety. Better at corner. Deeper and faster everywhere.

“And the way that Wade’s defense works, more speed is the key,” owner Jerry Jones said.

In Friday’s workout, interceptions by defensive backs seemed almost as prevalent as big catches by wide receivers.

“If you’re putting practices in the win-loss column, the defense got the better of us today,” tight end Jason Witten said.
