Looks like Bart Scott is leaving Baltimore and headed to the New York Jets. This might pave the way for Ray Lewis to remain in Baltimore, though there are reports that he’s upset with the Ravens.
There’s this rumor out there that Lewis will sign with Dallas.
Lewis told DeMarcus Ware and Terrell Owens he loves the Cowboys.
But the Cowboys have to take care of Ware. You saw that Albert Haynesworth got about million in guaranteed money. Ware is worth at least more than that. How about .5 million guaranteed.
The good thing is that the Cowboys won’t have to worry about Carolina defensive end Julius Peppers raising the price. Peppers, who is franchised, will get .7 million for the 2009 season.
Pepper’s agent Carl Carey said he doesn’t want to work out a long-term deal.
The Cowboys are working on clearing salary cap space for Ware. The release of Brad Johnson yesterday helped and if they cut Roy Williams, the team is currently shopping him, would also help.
