Cowboys Sign Wide Receiver

The Cowboys lost two of their wide receivers this year when they decided to cut veteran Roy Williams and then not resign 5-year man Sam Hurd. While most people assumed they would go for a veteran that can come in and provide some depth and even mentor some of the younger players, the Cowboys went a different direction. Tysson Poots, a rookie free-agent from Southern Utah became a Dallas Cowboy this morning.

Poots is a 6’2, 214 lb. wide out who will join fellow rookie Dwayne Harris in trying to make the team. Poots is a long shot and is likely just brought in to help in the depth department. He isn’t a burner, but Poots does have good hands. The experience itself will be a benefit for Poots’ career moving forward, and maybe he can impress enough to hang around on the practice squad.
